Awildan’s Spiced Rum spent over 8 months in an ex-bourbon barrel, gaining vanilla sweetness and an elevated tasting experience. We are very proud of this expression of our Spiced Rum! The black strap molasses base spirit is perceptible, with additional sweetness from the white oak barrel. Cinnamon, green cardamom and baking spice notes sit atop, lending complexity that continues long into the finish.
About Awilan Distilling’s Spiced Rum – This spirit starts as a potent mix of blackstrap molasses and pure cane sugar. Once fermented and 2.5x distilled in our 600L copper pot still, we introduce the spices in additional distillations through our 100L still. The resulting spirit is artfully introduced to toasted Mongolian oak, which imparts a subtle sweetness and complimentary spiciness.
